This half term we will be exploring the Power of Reading book, “One Plastic Bag” by Miranda Paul about Isatou Ceesay and the recycling women of The Gambia. We will study the text and illustrations in order to make inferences about character’s thoughts, feelings, emotions and actions. We will use a range of drama techniques to supports us writing advertising campaigns and design techniquez to create new plastic inventions!

Some of our lessons will have a cross curricular focus and link to our topic of 'Caring for the environment'.  In these English lessons we will be investigating the effects of plastic on our environment and what we could do as a community to help. We will also be studying inspirational people and using them as motivation to perform a 'TED talk'.
